Κατάστημα οπτικών, που είναι μισό κατάστημα και μισό εξεταστήριο. Ο σχεδιασμός απαντά και στα δύο με έναν καμπύλο όγκο από καρυδιά: από τη μία πλευρά είναι ο πάγκος υποδοχής, από την άλλη κρύβει το εξεταστήριο, χωρίς πόρτα και χωρίς διάδρομο.
Ο κύκλος τρέχει σε όλο το κατάστημα και δεν είναι διακόσμηση. Είναι ο φακός: στρογγυλοί καθρέφτες ανάμεσα στις ραφιέρες, δακτύλιοι φωτός στην οροφή, κυκλικές φωτισμένες κόγχες στη βιτρίνα, και το ίδιο το σήμα. Ό,τι κοιτάς εδώ μέσα, το κοιτάς μέσα από έναν κύκλο.
Λευκά συρτάρια για το απόθεμα, πάγκος από φυσική πέτρα σε ανοιχτό τόνο, λεπτές ορειχάλκινες ραφιέρες που κρατούν τους σκελετούς σε ύψος ματιού, και μια φλεβωτή επιφάνεια που σημαίνει το πέρασμα προς το βάθος.
An optician's, which is half shop and half examination room. The design answers both with one curved walnut volume: on one side it is the reception counter, on the other it screens the examination room, with no door and no corridor.
The circle runs through the whole shop and it is not decoration. It is the lens: round mirrors between the racks, rings of light on the ceiling, lit circular niches in the window, and the mark itself. Whatever you look at in here, you look at it through a circle.
White drawers for stock, a pale natural stone counter, slim brass racking holding the frames at eye level, and one veined surface marking the way through to the back.
